Staying at Sheerglass is wonderful at any time of year. Beautiful views of the sea and hills, both day and night. Watching the sunset and then moonlight on the water is magical! My dogs loved the walled garden and the chance to play outside together. A warm and peaceful place to enjoy the beautiful Island.

Sheerghlass is a wonderful holiday property and we cannot recommend it highly enough. In fact we have returned year after year. The property is so close to the sea that you can almost reach out of the window and touch it. When you step out of the door you are immediately on the coastal path and you can walk from the cottage directly into Castletown whilst enjoying the most dramatic scenery.

The property itself is extremely well maintained and contains all that you would wish for. Upstairs are the living room, dining room and kitchen. We enjoy sitting at the barstools in the kitchen to eat our breakfast whilst gazing out at the sea. The bedrooms and another living area are downstairs; both bedrooms are en-suite. It really is a home from home, warm and comfortable. In the colder months, the underfloor heating downstairs is a real plus.

The owners of Sheerghlass are very attentive and want your stay to be as perfect as possible, including a lovely welcome basket containing Manx produce.

I am sure we will be returning for many years to come.

This was our second stay in The Hayloft this year, and it was still as good as the first. We love everything about this place: It has a beautiful cottage feel but is spacious and has a modern and really high quality kitchen, bathroom and furnishings. Great shower, super comfortable bed, and it is in a perfect setting with horses and peacocks outside the window! We were staying in winter this time during very stormy weather and really appreciated how warm and cosy it was. The location is rural but a short drive to Castletown and lovely walks nearby. Sharron was absolutely brilliant and in contact whenever we needed. 5 stars! We will definitely be coming again next time we are over in the Isle of Man.

We have stayed at Grenaby Estates on a number of occasions, both at the Granary in the Grenaby Estate Grounds and latterly at Sheerghlass in Pooilvaash near Castletown. We always use Grenaby Estates as without exception they exceed all expectations. Their eye for detail in the quality of the accommodation is unsurpassed and the finishing touches and welcome packs of local produce are always a real treat!
 
If you are looking for quality accommodation, friendly and efficient service and a high level of comfort in a tranquil surroundings, look no further. “The photos do not do this house justice. It is fabulous! The location is down a coastal track so a car is necessary but the walk along this track along to Castletown in the one direction and Port St Mary in the other is flat and stunning. Would definitely recommend.”

The cottage was immaculately clean and had everything we needed for a great stay. The cottage is ten minutes drive from the airport and less than ten minutes from Castletown and Port St Mary. My son and I spent several weeks at Grenaby Estates during lockdown and I can’t recommend highly enough. The views flowing down over the south coast of the island and the equestrian estate are stunning. It’s an idyllic setting and the accommodation 5-star beautiful furnishings and Luxury comfort. The owners and all staff are a joy and made us feel incredibly welcome and like we were at home from home. Can’t fault anything would suit someone looking for a peaceful retreat OR a family looking for mountain biking / active holidays or a romantic break away. We can’t wait to get back later this year.

We have stayed with the Grenaby Estates on a number of occasions, mainly at their coastal cottage, Sheerghlass, but also in one of the converted estate buildings, The Hayloft. The standard is excellent throughout and best of all dogs are welcome!

 

Everyone at Grenaby makes a big effort to ensure we are happy customers. They have even gone to the trouble of getting something for us, if we have made a request. That’s very special...We love the Isle of Man, so to be able to come with our dogs, and be welcomed and as comfortable as we are, is just the icing on the cake.
