History

The original House and Barn date from early 1800s. The Manx stone barn and the field to the rear are remembered by many of the present older generation from school sports days, with races taking place in the field if weather was fine, or in the barn, one of the longest stone barns in the area, if wet.

The barn in question was converted in 2006-7 into the Hayloft and Granary Cottages, together with the Meeting and Conference Suite. The Hayloft and Granary take their names from their use when we took over the running of the Farm in 2002. Prior to then the Farm had been a working dairy farm and prior to that a beef and arable farm.

The current ethos while diversifying the farms business into new areas such as Tourism is to firmly re-establish the farming aspect with the Loaghtan flock being a key element in this and we hope this will continue for many generations.
